The Game Ordered to Stand Trial for Robbery and Assault Cases

On Tuesday (Dec. 8), The Game was ordered to stand trial for two alleged incidents. The Compton rapper was charged in separate cases, one for assault and another for robbery according to My News LA.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge M.L. Villar found sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial on one felony count of criminal threats and one misdemeanor count of assault and battery. The charges stem from The Game, real name Jayceon Taylor, allegedly punching an off-duty police officer on Mar. 23 during a pickup basketball game.

Onyebuchi Awaji, the off-duty officer, testified that The Game punched him after intentionally fouling him during the third quarter of the basketball game.

“I was kind of stunned, dazed,” Awaji testified. Awaji believed he saw part of The Game’s entourage rush the court after this. When Awaji returned the court, he claims that The Game threatened him.

“I’m going to see you outside. I’m going to kill you,” The Game allegedly told Awaji before leaving the gym.

Judge Villar also ordered The Game to stand trial on one felony count of second-degree robbery and one misdemeanor count of criminal threats. The charges involved a man who was filming The Game being served with legal papers outside Game’s home on Apr. 11.

Justin Willard testified that The Game jumped a fence on his property, grabbed Willard’s shoulders, took the camera and threatened to knock Willard out. Both victims have also filed civil lawsuits against The Game.
